Record-level production of Rolls-Royces is currently underway at the Goodwood plant, despite the still-recovering state of the overall global economy. Demand is so high that all of Rolls’ models are sold out through “at least September.”

So what does record production at Goodwood amount to? Fifteen cars a day, at present, with over 300 built in June. Rolls-Royce on the whole is doing well, too: the company is already on track to double 2009’s sales in 2010.

The new Ghost is no doubt partially responsible for the uptick in demand, though the Phantom is selling strong as well. In fact, the Phantom is already sold out through October. A large portion of the new growth is coming–unsurprisingly–from China and the Asia-Pacific region.

Mel Gibson and Oksana Grigorieva are locked in a bitter legal war over custody of their daughter.

Following claims that he punched, threatened and harassed his ex-girlfriend, Mel Gibson apparently believes that he is innocent.

Gibson is alleging that ex Oksana Grigorieva is, in fact, the one who broke the law, People.com reported.

The “Braveheart” actor, who is currently under investigation for domestic violence, reportedly plans to present detectives with evidence that he was being blackmailed by Grigorieva. According to the mag, Gibson claims that the Russian singer threatened to leak recordings of him to the press if he didn’t pay her.

The Federal Communications Commission on Thursday took its first formal step towards the adoption of new regulations for the broadband industry, setting the stage for what could become one of the most expensive lobbying campaigns to hit Capitol Hill by major telecommunications and cable providers.

In a 3-2 vote along party lines, Democrats at the FCC on Thursday agreed to begin formal consideration to adopt new rules for high- speed internet companies such as AT&T and Comcast, which have until now operated virtually free of the FCC’s oversight.
